The Story of Rancho Cucamonga
Rancho Cucamonga traces its roots to the old Cucamonga Rancho — a vast land grant from the Mexican era. Grapes grew here before anything else, and the winemaking tradition lasted well into the 20th century.
The city incorporated in 1977 by merging several communities, and it quickly became one of the most planned and prosperous cities in the Inland Empire. Good schools, clean neighborhoods, and proximity to both mountains and freeways made it a magnet for families.
Today, Rancho Cucamonga balances its suburban polish with a growing identity — more dining, more entertainment, and a sense that it's not just a bedroom community but a destination in its own right.
